Sweet cake-like dumplings surrounded in a rich butterscotch sauce. These Butterscotch Dumplings are served up warm with a scoop of cold ice cream on top! Youβre going to love this cozy, comfy sweet treat!
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, (which by the way, I’m giving you a HUGE thank you!!) you’ve probably noticed a little change in the photography department. As you can tell, I’ve been using a much different camera. To be honest, I am really just winging it. I’m not the *read the manual* type. I’d rather have my son, Levi (which happens to have the same camera and is a Pro!) give me the low down on how to use this camera.
It’s taken me some practice this past year, to say the least, on the whole food photography area. I’m one of those moms that take a couple hundred of pictures at one little event– of my kids. So, to say the least, I’m getting used to taking pictures of food… which do not move or moan when asked to give me a smile. Let’s just say, the food is much more cooperative!
I’ve gone back to the archives of last summer and have always cringed at my old photos for my Butterscotch Dumplings recipe. (There’s others, but I won’t get into that!)
I have to admit, this sweet treat was one of the hardest things to photograph last summer! And, now I know why. It was the (old) camera that didn’t capture what I wanted you to really see.
If you haven’t seen them… don’t worry, you really didn’t miss out on much. Just the hideous-ness.
So, please enjoy the updated version of these Butterscotch Dumplings.
I truly believe in this recipe and wanted to give you a chance to check it out. You know, in case you missed it the first time around.
This is really is one of my favorite recipes. My little East also agrees. Just seeing how the whole pan of these had magically disappeared by the end of the day!
Thank you, and enjoy!

Kelly, you’ll love these sweet dumplings. Way different than what is put in soups… these are very cake-like and sweet. They literally melt in your mouth! π
These look sinfully delicious! I love your photos! We’re our own worst critic, but I know how you feel. I feel compelled to re-take pics from the early days. But they were the best I could do at the time and I have to remain proud. π

I only recently joined the “let’s drool over Gloria’s photos ” party, but there is a reason it is a big one! Your photos are stubbing. Haha, my biggest photography flub up was (FOR MONTHS) I would save edited photos at their lowest quality do that they were always blurry on my posts and I couldn’t figure it out … Yes , I’m blonde π Anyways , you’ve done a fantastic job with photographing these dumplings -the fact that you posted them again makes me want it even more!

Your photography is beautiful, Gloria, and I completely understand what you mean. My old photos are pretty embarrassing and I hope to redo some of them because the photos don’t promote the goodness of the recipe at all! This cake looks so delicious, and that butterscotch sauce would completely win me over. π

Marcie, you said it best. This recipe needed to speak a little louder than my others from the past. Maybe because I really do make this so much. And, it was so challenging to get the image from my head into the camera. Didn’t work that way the first round. Thank you!
These look absolutely heavenly. I can’t even think of anything else to say because I’m speechless! This is SOO my kind of dessert!
You are so sweet, Nicole!
This looks sooo delicious! Your photos always make me drool! But I know what you mean I’ve been redoing all my photos from a year ago, they were awful cuz I was clueless at photography and I was taking them with my Tablet!!
