On every Sunday, I’m sharing with you a little bit more about me and what surrounds me.
Stepping out side after a fresh snow fall, is very peaceful.
I am thankful every single day of the views I get to see, and the peacefulness I feel.
I hear the train pass through in the far off distance. The sound bouncing off the mountain side.
A single bald eagle perched up far above on the tallest tree branch overlooking his range. Note: He is that black spot in the center of the picture above. I also hear the chirps from nearby birds.
The river flowing very slowly, as a flush of ducks go upstream.
Watching deer and their young, bed down under tall pines for cover of the storm. Waiting for the clear to go find food.
Passing by the long ditch of cattails withholding the stand of the heavy snow.
Looking through a deserted pick up and finding another door that leads to more.
Near the winding river banks, another flush of ducks stay warm in the steamy hot springs.
As the snow storm passes on, the clouds begin to lift. Showing the fresh blanket of snow on the mountain tops and valley floor.
This is what it’s like to live where I do.
No sound of busy traffic.
No commercial airplanes buzzing by.
Just the sights and sound of nature.
Sunday happens to be my favorite day of the week. It’s a day where my family has no itineraries. There’s no waking up early for school. We get to make brunch as late as we want. And, get together with family and friends.
What is your favorite day of the week and why?

First pic took my breath away. Beautiful. Then I started reading the words and viewing other pics. Wow. So glad you have a full appreciation for the gift you’ve been given in the opportunity to live in such a perfect place! Keep loving it and sharing it with us please!

Thank you soooo much!

You captured many beautiful things all around you. I love it. I learned from my dad to take the time to notice all the sometimes small but priceless things and moments in life. They surround us! Making us part of something phenomenal! This beautiful lesson he taught is such a blessing in my life. Sunday is also my favorite day of the week! I love being with my family all day. Those moments with my family are without a doubt, the most joyful part of my week! Thank you for sharing these glorious pictures and moments. I almost felt like I was there walking along with you!
Gloria says
Nickole, your dad is such a great man! And, YOU are the person that has always inspired me. xoxo

Wow! That is Heaven on Earth! I grew up in a small town surrounded by country. I miss the peacefulness. I live in Houston, TX now where it can get pretty crazy & loud. I wish my body could take cold because I would love to live in a place like this. My favorite day is Saturday. It’s the start of the weekend & I can get a lot done. On Sundays I feel a lot of dread. I know my weekend is ending & I have to go back to work & reality 🙁

Melissa, I grew up in a small town, too. (Population 200!) Then as an adult I wanted to live in the big city… Salt Lake City. Got a taste of that (eye roll!) and moved not soon enough to this small town. My boys now get to experience what I did growing up.
I think I have to say that Saturdays are my (other) favorite day, for the same reason with you. Have a wonderful week!

Beautiful pictures Gloria!! We had snow this week too but it all nearly gone now.
Saturday is my favorite day! Relax, cook, watch a little TV, see my children and grandchildren, relax, blog, read, catch up in the shop..etc. 🙂

You are a fantastic photographer! Fresh snow on evergreens is gorgeous. I’ve enjoyed admiring it from inside it, but trekking through it to get to church, etc., has not been as fun 🙂 Thank goodness it is so breathtaking!

Mary Frances, the snow covered evergreens happens to be my favorite, too. I can’t even imagine trekking through all of that. My husband is used to it. He’s a hunter. And, gets in the chest high deep snow… I’m a wimp! Have a great day!
Donna says
Oh Gloria, the pictures are “simply” stunning. You are surrounded by nature’s beauty. Breathtaking. I LOVED the pic with the truck – very creative. The last pic brought everything together but my absolute fav was the hot springs. I would love to have a hot springs close by. I hope you jumped in once you finished up with the pics Just WOW.

Thank you so much, Donna! That is so nice of you. I think I have a over a hundred pics of that pick up truck from every season. It’s in a fun spot… and obviously has been for a long time!
No one really goes down by the springs pond any more. Years ago it used to be a public area for recreation. It’s all wooded down there. Sometimes, my son will go down there to hook a couple blue gills and puts them back in.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
Julie @ This Gal Cooks says
Ok, those photos are beautiful and I’d take cold if I could wake up to that! Ha, I want to take cold anyways but maybe not as cold as where you live. But I’d be willing to make exceptions if I had that view!

ok, I want to live where you live!! I could FEEL the peace, and calm and the sound of nature as you described it with your words and pictures. I could hear the rush of the stream and God’s presence all around in all the you described. Thank you for that! So different than my noisy, cramped and cluttered life in the suburbs!!!! Look forward to the next in this series!!

Thank you so much, Renee! I’ve had my few years of knowing what it’s like to live in the world of constant noise and traffic. In fact, when we first moved out here, my middle son was so excited to see the stars! No city light over here. (=
