An Oreo cookie stuffed right inside of a triple chocolate cookie, surrounded with many chocolate morsels. Makes for an already delicious cookie within another scrumptious cookie!
Time is ticking away until the witching hour is almost over.
Halloween will be here very shortly …then poof, gone.
There’s still some candy left in the store isles.
And, let’s not forget about the Halloween themed sandwich cookies!
AND, the baking morsels still lurking around just waiting to be used for a fun Halloween {last minute} treat!
These easy Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Cookies are fun to hand out as gifts! Give some to your neighbors, the kids’ teachers, best buddies.
Or even for yourself! You SO deserve one (or two) of these in your life, right?!
I love a really good ooey, gooey chocolate cookie. And, it has to be soft. What makes these so soft… and soft for days, is the sweetened condensed milk. Also, not a lot of flour. Sometimes, too much flour can make a cookie dry. But, if you’re up for a soft chocolate cookie… then you’ve got to give these a try!
I used the Triple Dark Chocolate Cookies recipe to create these for a fun Halloween cookie. I only changed up the dark chocolate to just chocolate. And, the pastel nonpareil mint chocolate chips for the Halloween version of chocolate morsels instead.
As you probably already figured out, you could use any kind of sandwich cookie… And any kind of chocolate morsels to create this cookie any way that you want. It’s very simple and FUN like that!
When you make the cookie dough, use a large cookie scoop. (Some call it a large ice cream scoop.) These cookies don’ t really spread, so put them just far enough apart to where they can still have some wiggle room during the baking process.
Plop the sandwich cookie right onto the top of the scoop of chocolate. You may even just put them in the oven just like this, if you’d like!
Remember, you’re the decision maker and the cookie baker!
Roll it and cover the Oreo right up. Devour the tops with the chocolate morsels.
And, bake!
So easy!
Taking a bite out of these super soft chocolate cookies will surprise and excite your taste buds!
You’ll find the hidden treasure of a full Oreo cookie inside!
Enjoy, my friends!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup plus 2 tablespoons baking cocoa (I like to use Hershey’s Special Dark, sometimes.)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1¼ cups (14-ounces can) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups chocolate chips, divided
- 18-20 sandwich cookies (Any color or flavor you choose)
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate and orange colored morsels (Any chocolate chips are fine.)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Whisk together the flour, baking cocoa, and baking soda in a medium mixing bowl.
- Melt butter in a large sauce pan on medium heat. Take off heat and add 1 cup of chocolate chips and stir until melted.
- Pour sweetened condensed milk into the melted chocolate mixture. Add vanilla and beaten egg. Stir.
- Gently fold in the flour mixture into the chocolate in the sauce pan. Once all combined, stir in the rest of the chocolate chips.
- Use a large cookie scoop and put the each ball of dough onto a large baking sheet. Put a sandwich cookie right on top and gently pushing it down. Fold over the cookie dough and roll it up over the sandwich cookie. Cover the tops with chocolate morsels.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degrees oven for 10-12 minutes.
- Enjoy!
- *Makes 18-20 cookies. Store in an air tight container and they will stay fresh for up to 5 days!
I think I buy Oreos just to hoard for a baking treat down the road. (Then my Easton sniffs them out and I usually find an empty package in the baking pantry.)
Thanks, Krista!
