I very recently shared with you how to make some simple and easy {salmon} Parmesan Fish Sticks. And now I want to share with you the creamy Tartar Sauce that goes with them!
This is the perfect Tartar Sauce paired with any fish…especially salmon. Dipping the {salmon} Parmesan Fish Sticks into this sauce is very scrumptious and just the right sauce to have them with! The sauce is very mild, but well balanced with ingredients like fresh lemon juice and capers.
Making this creamy Tartar Sauce is a breeze.
You’ll need mayonnaise, buttermilk, a pickle, onion, capers, fresh parsley, as well as fresh lemon juice.
Finely chop the fresh parsley and drained capers. (Save the caper liquid for later.) Mince the onion and pickle.
Whisk together all of the ingredients in a medium-size mixing bowl. Cover and refrigerate to chill until serving. (About 30 minutes.)
I hope you enjoy this creamy Tartar Sauce!
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons dill pickle, minced
- 2 tablespoons onion, minced
- 1 tablespoon capers, well drained and chopped
- 2 tablespoons caper liquid
- Juice from half a lemon
- 2 tablespoons buttermilk
- salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine and whisk all of the ingredients in a medium-size mixing bowl.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving with Parmesan Fish Sticks.
Enjoy this Tartar Sauce with some Parmesan Fish Sticks! (Click for full step by step instructions and recipe for the fish sticks.)

We used to make it (and everything) from scratch growing up…but the tartar sauce was only mayo and minced pickles. So even with that, I was never too keen of the store bought stuff. But you’ve definitely have got to give this a try, Cindy…you’ll never go back to the other stuff! (I promise!) Hope you enjoyed your wkend!
Thanks for the pin action and for coming over to show some love!
hugs to you!!
Great sauce! I love that you made it along the lines of a gourmet sauce by adding capers! Pinned. 🙂

Hi! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an established blog.
Is it very difficult to set up your own blog?
I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick.
I’m thinking about making my own but I’m not sure where to
start. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Thank you
