Salted Bugles mingling with maraschino cherries, all covered with a coating of melted white chocolate and a dusting of cherry chip cake!
As you can probably tell by now, we love to snack on Bugles in my house.
I’ve shared how we eat them covered with the sweetness of caramel and brownies.
And, even with funfetti sprinkles!
We love them covered with all the sweet stuff …it all goes along with the saltiness and the crunch!
There’s cherries bursting in every bite of these White Chocolate Maraschino Cherry Bugles!
You may chop the cherries into how ever size you prefer. Leave them whole or cut into halves. You’re the boss.
If you don’t like to eat maraschino cherries whole (like myself), you’ll for sure love how these taste like little pieces of candy!
Mix it all together with the Bugle action… and you have yourself a sweet and salty little snack!
- 6 cups Bugles (1 package, 7.5-Ounce)
- 10 ounces white chocolate, melted
- 1 and 1/2 cup Cherry Chip cake mix, dry
- 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
- Melt white chocolate pieces over a double boil or in the microwave.
- Put the Bugles in a large mixing bowl and pour over the melted white chocolate. Immediately start to shake on the cake batter mix, along with the chopped cherries.
- Use a large wooden spoon to gently mix and combine all of these toppings to surround each and every Bugle. You may want to switch and use your hands.
- Dump the mixture onto a large baking pan or a clean surface with wax paper to allow the chocolate to set up. It only takes a few minutes. Separate any Bugles that became best friends with another.
- Enjoy!
I hope you enjoy this little sweet treat as much as my family does!

I love your “best friend” bugels! I hope some of mine become best friends. Wouldn’t this be a fun recipe for Valentine’s Day! I think I’ll make mine with milk chocolate, though, I don’t love white. I stopped by from Share Your Stuff Tuesdays when I saw your recipe because I just used bugels in my Original Slow Cooker Party Mix recipe, and since I bought a huge bag of them I have a bunch left. Although I’m not averse to eating them plain, I thought this recipe looked fun. Thanks for sharing, I now know where some of my bugels are going! HUGS

Yum! I’m going to have to go check out that recipe, Cheryl. We are on the same Bugle Brain!

Bugles bring me back to my “biker gang” days. Ok, that sounded bad. When I was little we {my friends} were known as the bicycle gang because we were always riding around the neighbor. Whew.. better. 🙂 Anyways, we use to ride to the grocery store and get this all the time.
Love the sweet and salty combo and how festive they are for valentines day! SO cute! Pinning Gloria! Great post my friend!

Krista, you are hilarious! We never had the luxury of even trying these when we were growing up. I had no idea what they were until my oldest started eating them when he was little. (He’d put them on his finger tips and laugh every time!)

Dude those things are made to go on your fingers, that and black olives. 🙂 Your sons a smart kid!

Gloria, I just wanted to let you know how much I love your site and everything you share with us. I look forward to every email I get from you. I would like to make a suggestion. I would love to see the process in how you display the food for example how you made these pretty little paper cups for the bugles. Show the process like you do with your recipes.
Gloria says
Sherrie, you just made my whole day! I wish I could get credit for making these little crafty cups. But, I actually found them at the craft store. They are baking cups. (Very similar to cupcake liners… you can bake something right with it placed in the cupcake pan!) I have a little obsession to cupcake liners… or just anything that is paper related!
Have a most fabulous Friday! xo
