Velvety, rich eggnog simply blended with creamy vanilla ice cream. Topped with a swirl of whipped cream and sprinked with ginger snap cookie crumbles.
Depending on where you live, I can bet you are experiencing some winter coldness! At least that’s what it’s doing where I live. We get to have snowy weather all weekend long! I enjoy a lazy, snowy day.
So, I’m sure you’d assume I was about to share with you a hot, cozy beverage…
Nope. It’s simply a very cold milkshake. Not just any milkshake, though. One with eggnog and ginger snaps.
How about cozying up with an Eggnog Milkshake with Ginger Snaps Crumbles!
Eggnog is so seasonal…I say it with some sarcasm. Because, they sell pumpkin all year round. Why not have the eggnog in the dairy section in June? I know my boys would be content knowing that it was always available.
When I shared with you my {No Bake} Eggnog Pie very recently, I mentioned that I do not like to drink the stuff…I just like the flavor. As I’ve learned, some of you are the same way. So glad I’m not the only one!
But, since eggnog is constantly in my refrigerator all season long… I try to be at least a little bit creative with the creamy beverage before the boys devour each quart in one sitting.
In this case, vanilla ice cream is involved. And, then why not just add the whipped cream all over the top. While you’re at it, garnish with some ginger snap cookie crumbles!
Super easy to put this milkshake together. Ready for it…
Simply pour the eggnog in the blender first. Then put in the scooped ice cream. Yep. It’s that easy.
But, I’ve made this so many times, through so many seasons of eggnog that I have it down pat for the right consistency. I like a smooth, thick shake that I can drink through a straw. Not too thick and definitely not too thin. The Cookie Dough Vanilla Milk Shake is a little different…with one like that, you straight up need a spoon with your straw!
Go ahead and enjoy a chilly Eggnog Milkshake this holiday season! But, remember the crumbled ginger snaps…it really gives it even more character!
- 10 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 1 cup eggnog
- 1 ginger snap cookies, crumbled
- whipped cream
- In a blender, pour in the eggnog.
- Add ice cream. (Blends better if the ice cream is a little on the soft side.)
- Blend until it is smooth and creamy.
- Add a little bit more eggnog to your liking of consistency.
- Top it with whipped cream and cookie crumbles.
- Enjoy!
- This makes one 18 ounce shake. You could definitely make this into two small shakes, as well.

Every time I grocery shop I stop in front of the eggnog, take a deep breath and resist the urge to buy it. At least I know how I will get rid of it next time I buy a carton!

I love eggnog, but gosh it’s SO unhealthy…not that that stops me. 😉 I eat ice cream 365 days a year. So yes, it’s cold here in CT and I crave soups and hot cocoa. However, I would not hesitate to whip up this cold beverage!
Have you ever seen Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase? It’s a family tradition to watch that movie 5 times over every holiday season. Last year, my parents gave each son-in-law a moose cup…a knock off from the ones they use in the movie to drink eggnog. My dad would crack up if I made this shake and served it to him out of that moose cup. Lol!
