Depending on where you live, I can bet you are experiencing some winter coldness!  At least that’s what it’s doing where I live.  We get to have snowy weather all weekend long!  I enjoy a lazy, snowy day.

So, I’m sure you’d assume I was about to share with you a hot, cozy beverage…

Nope.  It’s simply a very cold milkshake.  Not just any milkshake, though.  One with eggnog and ginger snaps.

How about cozying up with an Eggnog Milkshake with Ginger Snaps Crumbles!

Eggnog is so seasonal…I say it with some sarcasm.  Because, they sell pumpkin all year round.  Why not have the eggnog in the dairy section in June?  I know my boys would be content knowing that it was always available.

When I shared with you my {No Bake} Eggnog Pie very recently, I mentioned that I do not like to drink the stuff…I just like the flavor.  As I’ve learned, some of you are the same way.  So glad I’m not the only one!

But, since eggnog is constantly in my refrigerator all season long… I try to be at least a little bit creative with the creamy beverage before the boys devour each quart in one sitting.

In this case, vanilla ice cream is involved.  And, then why not just add the whipped cream all over the top.  While you’re at it, garnish with some ginger snap cookie crumbles!

Super easy to put this milkshake together.  Ready for it…

Simply pour the eggnog in the blender first.  Then put in the scooped ice cream.  Yep.  It’s that easy.

But, I’ve made this so many times, through so many seasons of eggnog that I have it down pat for the right consistency.  I like a smooth, thick shake that I can drink through a straw.  Not too thick and definitely not too thin.  The Cookie Dough Vanilla Milk Shake is a little different…with one like that, you straight up need a spoon with your straw!

Go ahead and enjoy a chilly Eggnog Milkshake this holiday season!  But, remember the crumbled ginger snaps…it really gives it even more character!

  2. 1 cup eggnog
  3. 1 ginger snap cookies, crumbled
  4. whipped cream
  1. In a blender, pour in the eggnog.

  4. Add a little bit more eggnog to your liking of consistency.
  5. Top it with whipped cream and cookie crumbles.
  6. Enjoy!
  1. This makes one 18 ounce shake. You could definitely make this into two small shakes, as well.

I’ve never seen it in a can before for all year long. That’s a great idea for when making something with the it as a side ingredient. Especially how some of us foodies like to make things ahead of the season! Thanks, Jocelyn!

Tahny, the vanilla ice cream totally tones down the texture of the eggnog. That’s why this is the only way that’ll I’ll even *drink* it! Hope you’re having an adventurous day today! (=

It’s been cold and rainy all day here too but I have no problem getting cozy with a glass of this dreamy milkshake 🙂 Love the addition of whipped cream and cookie crumble on top. Pinning and hope you have a great week Gloria!

I love eggnog, but gosh it’s SO unhealthy…not that that stops me. 😉 I eat ice cream 365 days a year. So yes, it’s cold here in CT and I crave soups and hot cocoa. However, I would not hesitate to whip up this cold beverage!
Have you ever seen Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase? It’s a family tradition to watch that movie 5 times over every holiday season. Last year, my parents gave each son-in-law a moose cup…a knock off from the ones they use in the movie to drink eggnog. My dad would crack up if I made this shake and served it to him out of that moose cup. Lol!

How delicious! Normally I spring for from-scratch recipes, but with the holidays around the bend, who has time for that? This sounds delicious and your photos are terrific. Pinning! Thank you for sharing a creative idea with us.

As crazy as it sounds, I love the flavor of egg nog, but not how much it reminds me of really “thick” milk – if that makes sense?! I am totally down with milkshakes though 🙂 Pinned this – and I love the ginger snap crumbles too! Perfect winter milkshake! Thanks for linking up to Freedom Fridays – I hope you and your family have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving, Gloria!
